Five things to consider when using a portable air conditioner:
Room size: It is important to buy the right size air conditioner for the room you want to cool. (This appliance is suitable for cooling rooms of 18–23m2 size.) Exhaust hose: This MUST BE CONNECTED and hot air expelled to the outside for the appliance to work properly. Keep the hose as short as possible. Noise: As the compressor is inside the room, a portable air conditioner makes more noise than a split system, where the compressor is outside. Switching on/off: After switching on, allow 30 seconds for cool air to flow through the louvers. Avoid starting the air conditioner soon after switching off, and avoid switching it off immediately after switching on. Allow at least 3 minutes in between switching the unit on and then off, or vice versa. Moving the appliance: Take care when moving the appliance as condensation water may spill out. Ensure the drip tray is empty before moving it.

If your portable air conditioner appears to be working less effectively than expected, please check the points below to ensure optimum performance.
Poor cooling performance?
The flexible air exhaust hose MUST BE CONNECTED and hot air expelled TO THE OUTSIDE for the unit to work properly. Keep the hose as short as possible and ensure the hot air is NOT vented back into the room. Check the manual for detailed installation instructions.
The air filter must be properly installed and clean. Do not use the unit without the air filter fitted, or with a dirty or clogged up filter, which will reduce the airflow volume and could cause failures. Check the manual for detailed filter cleaning instructions.
The airflow must be free of obstructions. Do not locate the unit where furniture or other objects can obstruct the airflow.
The unit must be set to the correct mode and temperature. Ensure you have selected Cooling mode and set the temperature appropriately.
External factors must be kept to a minimum. Keep doors and windows closed and draw curtains or blinds if the room is directly exposed to the sun. Also ensure to keep the unit away from any heat-producing appliances.
